Glasshouse Country Bowls Club – Armed Pairs – 9 Jul ’19
Tuesday 9th July saw BNABAi travel to Glasshouse Country Bowls Club for our monthly Tournament.
It was a great day out and some really good bowls were played. We had a small field of 16, but the competition was good and we had players from Samford, Kallangur, Geebung, Glasshouse, Red Hill, Chermside, Narangba, Caloundra, Windsor and Donnybrook playing.
Winners for the day were:
Overall Winners were Glenn Norton (Red Hill) and Warren Blackbourne (Glasshouse) with a 4 + 25 and runners up were Denis O’Toole (Windsor) and Graeme Grant (Caloundra) 4 + 15.
2x4x2 Winners were: Glenn Norton (Red Hill) and Warren Blackbourne Glasshouse) 2 + 21 and runners up were Peter Kanowski (Kallangur) and Geoff Jordan (Kallangur) 2 + 15.
3 Bowls Pairs winners were Denis O’Toole (Windsor) and Graeme Grant (Caloundra) 2 +11 and runners up were Nev Hoey (Donnybrook) and Jack Timms (Glasshouse) 2 + 7.
Linda Walters of Progressive Realty provided our random draw prize winners for the day for $50 Fuel Cards and they were Tony Watson, Glenn Norton and Peter Kanowski.

Kallangur Bowls Club – Sunday 9 Jun ’19
Our June Tournament which was held at Kallangur Memorial Bowls Club on Sunday June 9 was a great success.
We had 20 players in attendance and the weather was great.
Overall winners of the day were Tony Mason (Kallangur) and Trevor Waters (Kallangur) with a 4 +15.
Game 1 (2x4x2) Winners were Greg Birk (Red Hill) and Dee Whitworth (Pine Rivers) with a 2 + 12.
Game 2 (3 Bowls Pairs) Winners were Barry French (Wynnum) and Frank Farrall (Manly).
Well done to all who competed on the day.

We also had some wonderful raffle prizes sponsored by Travel Counselors Kris Higgins and a six pack from Kallangur Memorial Bowls Club.

Northern Suburbs Bowls Club – Sunday 26 May ’19
“Sunday 26th May saw 28 Arm Bowlers competing from 16 Clubs around Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Laidley and South Brisbane in the Brisbane Northside Arm Bowlers Association tournament held at the Northern Suburbs Bowls Club.
We enjoyed a lovely morning tea of Sandwiches and Coffee and Tea and we look forward to our next Tournament which will be held at the Kallangur B. C. on Sunday 9th June 19.
Game 1: 2x4x2 winners were: Stan Dunbar (Hamilton) and Toby Heathcote (Toombul)with a 2 + 17 and Runners Up were Dianne Keogh (Sandgate) and Doug Bristow (Pine Rivers)
Game 2: 3 Bowl Pairs winners were: Geoff Hankinson (Chermside) and Peter Kanowski (Kallangur) with a 2 + 15 and Runners up were Stan Dunbar (Hamilton) and Toby Heathcote (Toombul) with a 2 + 14.’
Our overall winners were Stan Dunbar (Hamilton) and Toby Heathcote (Toombul) with a 4 + 31.
Runner up was Geoff Hankinson (Chermside) and Peter Kanowski (Kallangur) with a 4 + 19.

Laidley Bowls Club – Monday 6th May ’19
Laidley hosted a MABA day on Monday 6th May and as usual it turned out to be a “beautiful sunny day”. Competition was in the 3 bowl triples format over 2 games, punctuated by a brilliant lunch prepared and served up in traditional Laidley hospitality, by its members. About 40 Armed Bowlers attended. The sponsors of the day were: Somerset Funerals. Winners of the Day were: Ross Knight and Glenn Norton pictured below with Pres. of BNABA Tony Watson, the other Tony Watson (Ynot) and Peter Whelan.
The “Ron Weier Green” above is named in honour of one of their oldest playing members.

Hamilton Bowls Club – March ’19
BNABA Members played at Hamilton B. C. in a challenge “Armed vs. Non-Armed Day”. What a great idea? Is it a first? (Did I mention the day was won by the Non-Armed bowlers? Another challenge will be mounted to swiftly rectify this situation.)
